NEWMAC Women Claim Nine All-American Nods on Day Two of NCAA Swimming & Diving Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, IN. – The No. 5 MIT women's swimming and diving team moved into fifth place on day two of the 2026 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, hosted at the IU Natatorium , thanks to multiple All-America performances.  

In the 200 Free, Mary Feliz took sixth, finishing in 1:50.05 while Jessica Crane finished in 15th with a time of 1:51.06. Feliz tallied her second All-America honor of the meet. Wheaton College senior Garin Stone placed 32nd in the 200-yard freestyle in the morning preliminaries with a time of 1:52.66 to finish tied for 32nd overall.

Sydney Smith earned a fifth-place finish in the 200 Fly as she clocked in at 54.71. Smith now has 14 All-America honors. She has two in the 100 Fly and 200 Free Relay. 

In the 400 IM, Sarah Bernard took 12th in 4:25.74 and Christina Beggs finished 13th with a time of 4:27.66 and Amberlynn Gong finished 15th in 4:29.02. Bernard got her seventh All-America accolade and second in the 400 IM, while Gong and Beggs got their first All-America honors.  

In the 1-Meter Dive Logan Yee placed fifth with a score of 427.20 while Fiora Beratahani finished in 13th with a mark of 417.10.  Yee earned her first All-America honor, while Beratahani got her third All-America honor and second in the event. 
 
In the final event of the evening, the 200 Free Relay quartet of Rachel YangSydney SmithOlivia Chen and Annika Naveen placed seventh with a time of 1:32.76. Naveen notched her 10th All-America honor and fourth in the event, while Yang, Chen, and Crane got their first All-America honors.  

Wellesley College 200 Free relay team, consisting of first-year Lucy Choe, seniors Tracey Liu and Kavita Sekhon and first-year Alexis Kung, came in 27th in the preliminary round, completing the race at 1:37.30, a mere .03 off of the program record.

Tomorrow, Friday, March 20, will begin with prelims at 10:00 AM and finals at 6:00 PM. Events will include the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Fly, 100 Back, and 800 Free Relay.
