Four All-American Finishes Highlight Day One of NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, IN. – The MIT women's swimming and diving team took part in four events on the opening day of the 2026 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships hosted at the IU Natatorium on Wednesday. The Engineers captured All-America honors in four events. 

Mary Feliz finished in 4:53.71 to take 11th overall in the 500 Freestyle. 

Kathy Nie took tenth with a time of 2:03.43 in the 200 medley. 

In the 50 Freestyle, Annika Naveen touched the wall with a time of 23.37 to finish 14th.

The 400 Medley Relay quartet of Sydney SmithSarah BernardBelise Swartwood, and Lillian Poag finished in 3:47.59 to take 15th. 

Feliz, Nie, and Poag earned their first All-America honors, while Swartwood captured her second All-America honor. 

Bernard is now a six-time All-American, earning her second All-America honor in the 400 Medley Relay. 

Naveen is now a nine-time All-American, earning her second All-America honor in the 500 Free, and Smith becomes a 12-time All-American with her third AA honor in the 400 Medley Relay. 

Day two of competition begins tomorrow, Thursday, March 19, with prelims at 10:00 AM. Events will include the 200 Free, 100 Fly, 400 IM, 200 Free Relay, and 1-Meter Dive.
