Offensive Athlete of the Week- Aliaun Iscandari (Fy., G), Clark University

Aliaun Iscandari (Hawthorne, Calif.) averaged 22.5 points per game as Clark went 2-0 on the week. The first-year delivered a breakout performance with a career-high 37 points on 12-of-16 shooting in Saturday’s win over MIT, while also contributing 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game to fuel the Cougars’ undefeated week.

Defensive Athlete of the Week- Timmy O’Toole (Sr., F), Babson College

Timmy O’Toole (Milton, Mass.) recorded one double-double and totaled 22 rebounds, seven steals, and two blocked shots while averaging 7.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals as Babson won two of three games. The senior forward contributed four boards, one steal, and one block in just 15 minutes of a lopsided win at MIT on Tuesday, and posted his fourth double-double (16 points, 10 rebounds) to go along with three steals and one block in Thursday’s 89-74 win over Salve Regina. O’Toole concluded the week with eight rebounds and three steals in the Beavers’ 78-72 loss at WPI.Â

Offensive Athlete of the Week- Bri Frongillo (Sr., G), Emerson College  Â

Bri Frongillo (Hopedale, Mass.) averaged 21.5 points on 48.3-percent shooting (14-for-29) from the field, including 4-for-10 (40%) from three-point range, while converting 11-of-14 (78.6%) free throws in a 2-0 week that sees the Lions off to a 3-0 start in NEWMAC play for the second-straight season. She also contributed 6.5 assists, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.5 steals in 39.7 minutes per game over the two contests. Frongillo scored 27 of her season-high 39 points in the first half of Saturday's 76-67 win at Wheaton, including 19 in the second quarter alone, and finished the day off with 6-of-8 shooting at the free-throw line in the final minute to seal Emerson's fourth-straight win. She finished 13-of-22 from the floor overall, including 4-for-10 from three-point distance, with a season-high matching seven rebounds, six assists, and a season-best three steals. It marks her second 30-point outing of the season and seventh of her career. She opened the week with a season-high seven assists in Wednesday's 54-42 win at Wellesley with four points, five rebounds, and two steals.

Defensive Athlete of the Week- Claire English (Jr., F/C), Emerson College

Claire English (Winchester, Mass.) averaged 9.5 of her 12.0 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week for the Lions on the defensive end, while adding 3.0 steals and a blocked shot per game for an Emerson team that limited its two opponents to 54.5 points on 36-percent shooting, including 38.5% from three-point distance in a 2-0 week to open NEWMAC play with three wins for the second-straight year. She also contributed 8.5 points and 3.0 assists per contest for the Lions. English grabbed a game-high ten rebounds in Wednesday's 54-42 win at Wellesley with four points, three assists, and a career-high matching three steals. She posted her sixth double-double of the season (13th career) in Saturday's 76-67 win at Wheaton with 13 second-half points and a game-high 14 rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

Diver of the Week – David Krol (Jr.), Babson College

David Krol (Grafton, Wis.) came in first in both diving events to help Babson defeat Bridgewater State in a dual meet on Saturday. He recorded his second-highest six-dive score of the year (312.75) on the 1-meter board and posted a season-best total of 319.20 points in the 3-meter event to earn 18 points for the Beavers.Â

Swimmer of the Week – Marcus Tran (Fy.), Wheaton College

First-year
Marcus Tran (Milton, Mass.) contributed to four wins with two individual event triumphs and two relay victories against Worcester Polytechnic Institute on January 21. Tran won the 100-yard backstroke with a mark of 53.34 in addition to a victory in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.32. He also swam the backstroke to open the 400-yard medley relay to contribute to a winning time of 3:29.78. The rookie established the pace in the winning 200-yard freestyle as well, helping Wheaton turn in a mark of 1:24.81.

Diver of the Week- Fiora Beratahani (Jr.), MIT

Junior
Fiora Beratahani (San Jose, Calif.) won three of four diving events as the No. 5 MIT women's swimming and diving team competed against No. 3 NYU, No. 8 Williams and No. 9 Tufts. In the dual meet against the Violets and Ephs, she won the 1-meter with a score of 289.70 and took the 3-meter with a mark of 316.50. In the Engineers’ win over Tufts, she took the 3-meter with a score of 532.43 and finished second on the 1-Meter (479.40). She hit regional scores for 11-Dives against the Jumbos and regional for her 6 dives in the dual meet.

Swimmer of the Week – Sam Halvorson (So.), U.S. Coast Guard Academy

Sophomore
Sam Halvorson (Chesapeake, Va.) broke two pool records at Trinity College, in the 100 and 200 yard backstroke. She swam the 100 in 58.55 and the 200 in 2:06.81. Halvorson was also a part of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay.
