Marlborough, Mass.- Following the 2025 NEWMAC Women’s Track and Field Championship on April 26, the NEWMAC released its major awards and all-conference teams. The Women’s Track and Field All-Conference Team consists of a first team and a second team, which was determined by student-athlete finish at the event, with first place performance earning first time all-conference honors, and second place finishes earning second team all-conference accolades. The Track Athlete, Field Athlete, Rookie and Coaching Staff of the Year were voted on by the ten head coaches following the NEWMAC Championship.
Track Athlete of the Meet- Tara Jessen, U.S. Coast Guard Academy
Tara Jessen was a two-time NEWMAC Champion, pulling off the double of the heptathlon and the 400 hurdles. In the heptathlon, Jessen was the leader in 4 of the 7 events (100H, High Jump, 200m, and 800m), winning the event by 386 points with a NEWMAC Record of 3,745 points. Then 90 minutes later, she won the 400 hurdles running a school record time of 1:04.22 (winning by over 2 seconds).
Field Athlete of the Meet- Allie Wildsmith, U.S. Coast Guard Academy
Allie Wildsmith won the high jump at the 2025 NEWMAC Championship, setting a NEWMAC meet and facility record. Wildsmith cleared 1.76m (5' 9.25") surpassing the previous record by 3 cm and winning the competition by 15 cm (6"). Her performance is also 3 cm ahead of the second-best performance among NCAA Division III high jumpers.
Rookie of the Meet- Maeve Sullivan, MIT
MIT first-year
Maeve Sullivan shined in her first NEWMAC Championship performance, helping to lead the Engineers to the team championship. Sullivan won the individual title in the 800m with a personal record time of 2:14.45. She later led off the women's 4x400 with the fastest split in the field before MIT finished fifth in the event.
Coaching Staff of the Year- MIT
The MIT women's track and field team won its fourth straight and the program's 16th all-time NEWMAC title with 278 points at the 2025 NEWMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The coaching staff is led by head coach
