MARLBOROUGH, Mass. - With the completion of the regular season this evening, the NEWMAC has released the 2026 Women's Lacrosse Championship Bracket. The championship tournament will consist of seven teams competing for the NEWMAC crown, with games beginning on Saturday, April 25th.
With a perfect 10-0 conference record, defending NEWMAC Champions MIT has locked up the top seed. MIT is led offensively by
Ashley Thomas, who is third in the league with 59 goals, while also leading the NEWMAC with 59 assists. Goalkeeper
Pauline Vien leads the NEWMAC with a .487 save percentage. MIT earns a first-round bye to the semifinals next Wednesday.
The second seed goes to Coast Guard (9-1), which is led by
Abby McAllister’s 4.50 goals per game, which tops the NEWMAC. Goalkeeper
Kailee Heron is first in the NEWMAC in goals against average at 6.75. The Bears will host No. 7 Salve Regina University (4-6) on Saturday, April 25. The Seahawks are led offensively by
Alix Madden’s 45 goals.
Springfield College (8-2) nabbed the third seed. The Pride features a well-balanced offensive attack led by
Izzy Lalancette’s 40 goals. The Pride will host the No. 6-seeded Wheaton College, which finished league play with a 5-5 record. Wheaton is led by
Jessica Chamberlin, who has totaled 51 goals this season. The two teams will meet up on Saturday, April 25.
In the final first-round match-up, No. 4 Babson College (7-3) will host No. 5 Smith (6-4). The Beavers will look to
Lilly Bedard to be an impact player in the tournament, as she leads her squad with 66 points on 33 assists and 33 goals. Smith’s
Kyra Hawk has totaled 58 goals this season, good for fourth in the league. The winner of this game will face MIT in a semifinal showdown on Wednesday, April 29, while the two winners of the other first-round matchups will square off in the second semifinal.
The winners of each semifinal game will then meet in the championship game on Saturday, May 2
nd, at the site of the highest remaining seed.
Tickets for NEWMAC championship events can be purchased through the NEWMAC box office. The NEWMAC encourages fans to purchase their mobile tickets in advance of the event to streamline the entry process on game day. Spectators may purchase mobile tickets on site, but no cash option will be available. Ticket prices are $10 for general admission. Children 12 and under and NEWMAC students with a valid institutional ID are free and do not need to purchase a mobile ticket. Once a matchup is confirmed following each round of the championship, the tickets will become available.
