GREENWOOD, Indiana – College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Wednesday the 2025 Academic All-America® women’s soccer teams for NCAA Division I-II-III and NAIA, with MIT’s
Natalie Barnouw (Los Angeles, Calif.) headlining the Division III selections as the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year.
Barnouw earns the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for Division III after also being named to the first team in 2023 and the second team in 2024. The graduate student from Los Angeles holds a 3.80 GPA as the midfielder pursues her master’s degree in computational biology. She was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-American First Team after setting single-season program records in goals and points, and set a new career points mark. Barnouw was also named the NEWMAC Athlete of the Year. She led Division III with 59 points on the year, was second with 23 goals, and fifth with 13 assists. She also ranked second in the nation with 10 game-winning goals. She netted at least one goal in 17 of her 26 matches and tallied six multi-goal games.
Ten of the 33 members of the Academic All-America® Division III women’s soccer teams claim a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school, including MIT’s
Leene Mehendale (Dallas, Texas), who was a second team selection. Mehendale earns her first Academic All-America honor as the Biological Engineering major earned the NEWMAC Laurels of Academic Excellence for having the highest GPA of a competing player at the NEWMAC Tournament. She was also named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player as she helped lead MIT to the program's third-straight tournament championship, during which the team did not surrender a goal during their three games. Overall, the Engineers had one of the best defenses in Division III, leading the way with 20 shutouts.
Madeline Seebeck (San Antonio, Texas) was also honored as a second-team selection. She was voted to her first All-America team as the Mechanical Engineering major set a career-high with 10 goals and 23 assists this season. She was a valuable part of one of the best defenses in the country as MIT allowed just seven goals in 27 games with a Division III best 20 shutouts. Seebeck was named a United Soccer Coaches Fourth Team All-American and earned her second First Team NEWMAC All-Conference nod.
The Division III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Division III Academic All-America® program.
