Four NEWMAC Men's Soccer Programs Garner College Team Academic Honors From the United Soccer Coaches

Kansas City, Mo. - August 11, 2026 - Four institutions from the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) were recently honored with the United Soccer Coaches Men’s Soccer College Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year.

A total of 795 soccer teams (334 men, 461 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year. Of that total, 186 schools had both their men’s and women’s programs recognized.

This year’s recipients included MIT (3.70 grade point average), the United States Coast Guard Academy (3.43 grade point average), Babson College (3.40 grade point average) and Wheaton College (3.31 grade point average).

MIT was one of 13 Division III men’s programs to achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.70 and of those 13 was one of five from the New England region joining Bates College, Connecticut College, Wesleyan University and Williams College.

The 2026 men’s soccer season is set to get underway on September 1 and NEWMAC conference play will open on Saturday, September 19.
