SPARTANBURG, S.C. –Sophomore
Renne Cooper earned All-American honors with a 27
th-place finish as the MIT men's cross country team captured 9th place in the team standings at the 8k 2025 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Milliken Research Park in Spartanburg, S.C.
MIT put in a consistent performance at the national championship, with the Engineers holding on to the 9th spot in the team standings from the 1K through the 3K marks in the race.
The Engineers briefly moved to 10th through the 5K mark but closed strong, jumping up to 7th at the 6K and 7K marks before taking 9th at the finish.
In his first career appearance at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships, U.S. Coast Guard Academy senior
Paul Hobbs closed out his collegiate career by placing 154th in a field of 291 runners, crossing the line with a final time of 25:41.
WPI cross country seniors
Brinson Wyche and
Everett Mosher wrapped up their 2025 campaign. Wyche crossed the finish line at 26:33.4. Mosher, who made his debut in cross country this fall, surged ahead early, marking up to 32nd overall individually through the first 3,000 meters before dropping back and finishing at 29:01.4.
