Smith Lands in NFCA/Easton Top 10 Team GPAs; 89 from NEWMAC Earn Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Honors

Smith College ranked ninth amongst NCAA Division III teams in team GPA, as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) revealed its Easton Top 10 GPAs for its collegiate divisions on Wednesday morning. Smith’s collective GPA was an impressive 3.695.
 
The NFCA also recognized individual scholar-athletes, with the NEWMAC seeing 89 student-athletes garner the honor, out of 2,369 in.NCAA Division III, who earned a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2022-23. 
 
The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association’s membership categories. Team GPAs and scholar-athletes are submitted by member head coaches.

About the NEWMAC

The NEWMAC is an association of 12 selective academic institutions: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast Guard Academy, Emerson College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke College, Salve Regina University, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, that are committed to providing high quality competitive athletic opportunities for student-athletes within an educational and respectful environment that embodies the NCAA Division III Philosophy.
