WESTWOOD, Mass. - The NEWMAC is excited to announce the Men's Tennis 25-Year All-NEWMAC Team, in recognition of the historic 25th Anniversary season. A total of 21 student-athletes have been recognized, as announced by the conference office on Thursday. The honored team was voted on by the membership.
A total of six institutions were represented on the team, with MIT leading the way with 11 honorees. Next was Babson with five, followed by Springfield and Wheaton, who each had two honorees. Clark and Coast Guard rounded out the selections with one selection each.
The team features 15 Athlete of the Year honorees, five of which were multi-year recipients. Combined, the group earned a total of 81 first team All-NEWMAC nods. There are also eight All-American performers within the group.
MIT's
Dave Hagymas was voted as the top coach from the past 25 years. He has been at the helm of the Engineers for 18 seasons, earning NEWMAC Coach of the Year honors five times. During his tenure at MIT, he has compiled an overall record of 241-88 in dual matches, including an 85-3 mark in conference play. Hagymas has directed the team to a NEWMAC Championship 16 times.

The men's tennis 25-Year All-NEWMAC Team was voted on by current men's tennis coaches and sports information directors at the conference's seven member institutions. Voters were asked to rank student-athletes and were not allowed to vote for members or coaches from their own institution. To be eligible for the 25th anniversary team, student-athletes must have been recognized on the NEWMAC First-Team All-Conference team at least twice, and/or earned Player of the Year honors. Coaches must have coached in the NEWMAC for a minimum of 10 seasons.

About the NEWMAC
