WESTWOOD, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has released the 2023 Men's Lacrosse Major Awards and All-Conference honorees. Babson took home three of the four major awards, including the Offensive and Defensive Athlete of the Year honors.
Babson senior Chi Chi Price was named the 2023 NEWMAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Year after leading the Beavers to the NEWMAC regular season title and tournament championship. Price ranked second in the league with 27 goals in conference play to go along with three assists for 30 points. Overall, his 61 goals led the Beavers and ranked top 20 nationally.
Babson senior Will Parducci earned the honor of 2023 NEWMAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Year after backstopping the Beavers to a sweep of the NEWMAC titles. Babson allowed just 59 goals in league play to tie for the fewest. Parducci led the league with an 11.62 goals against average and posted a .525 save percentage.
MIT first year Zach Bleil was named the 2023 NEWMAC Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Year after scoring 11 goals and tallying one assist for 12 points in NEWMAC play. He also tallied 36 goals and eight assists for 44 points overall as a significant factor in the Engineers' offense.
Babson collected the 2023 NEWMAC Men's Lacrosse Coaching Staff of the Year crown. Head Coach Rocky Batty guided the Beavers to their second NEWMAC Tournament title in the last three years. Devin Newell and Alex Bunick rounded out Batty’s coaching staff.
Voted on by the seven head coaches, the Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Team consists of a First Team and a Second Team with 13 honorees on each team, listed below.
