WORCESTER --Â After four days of competition at the 2023 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Swimming and Diving Championship, the MIT men's swimming and diving team recorded its 14th consecutive and 17th overall title. The Engineers finished the meet with 1,439.5 points to take home the trophy once again. On the women's side, MIT also won the team title, marking the 12th straight year that the Engineers captured both trophies.
The U.S. Coast Guard finished as runner-up at the meet, compiling 906.5 total points after four days of competition. Babson took third with 725 points with WPI in fifth with 679 points. Rounding out the final standings were Springfield (644), Wheaton (573) and Clark (204).
Coming up for select NEWMAC student-athletes is the NCAA Division III Diving Regional. The event will be held in New York City with NYU as host on February 24 and 25. Following that, the 2023 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships will be held March 15-18 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, NC.
