Six NEWMAC Women's Soccer Teams Receive United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award

Kansas City, Mo. - August 11, 2026 - Six institutions from the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) were recently honored with the United Soccer Coaches Women’s Soccer College Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year.

A total of 795 soccer teams (334 men, 461 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year. Of that total, 186 schools had both their men’s and women’s programs recognized.

This year’s recipients included Wellesley College (3.78 grade point average), MIT (3.70 grade point average), WPI (3.69 grade point average), Springfield College (3.63 grade point average), the United States Coast Guard Academy (3.59 grade point average) and Babson College (3.41) grade point average).

Wellesley and MIT were two of 35 Division IIII women’s programs to achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.70 in 2025-26. In fact, Wellesley ranked tied for fourth in the nation with its 3.78 grade point average.

The 2026 women’s soccer season is set to get underway on September 1 and NEWMAC conference play will open on Saturday, September 19.
