NEWMAC Women's Soccer Weekly Report #1 - September 8

Marlborough, Mass. - September 8, 2026 - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has released its selection for the league's Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week, for the week ending September 7. The first weekly award winners of the 2026 season include Camila Leiva (Warwick, RI) of Wheaton College and Maddy Noll (Northbrook, Ill.) of MIT. The NEWMAC's weekly awards program is presented by SKYBOKX109 Sports Bar & Grill in Framingham, Massachusetts.

Offensive Player of the Week - Camila Leiva - Wheaton - Sophomore - Warwick, Rhode Island

In two games, Wheaton sophomore forward Camila Leiva tallied four goals to become the first Wheaton player since at least 2003 to score four times in the season's first two matches. Leiva made her Lyon debut by netting a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in a 4-0 victory over Worcester State University on September 2. She then capped the week by scoring two more markers in a 4-1 win at Bridgewater State University on September 4. Leiva is the conference's leader in both goals (4) and points (8) heading into week two of the 2026 season.

Defensive Player of the Week - Maddy Noll - MIT - Junior - Northbrook, Illinois

MIT junior netminder Maddy Noll put up a 1-0-1 record in the opening weekend for the #8 ranked MIT women's soccer team as the junior played 180 minutes without allowing a goal. In the Engineers 5-0 win over Gordon she made three saves and followed that with a nine save performance on the road against NYU.
