Pitcher of the Week- Josh Mayo (Jr., P), Springfield College

Junior
Josh Mayo (Westfield, Mass.) pitched a no-hitter against Emerson, securing the doubleheader sweep for Springfield College on Sunday afternoon. Mayo struck out a season-high ten batters, surrendered just two walks, and became the first pitcher at Springfield to throw a no-hitter since 2019.Â

Athlete of the Week- Dalton Chi (Fy., INF), MIT

Dalton Chi (Cerritos, Calif.) hit .600 with a .600/.667/.647 slash line, registering nine hits in 15 at-bats while scoring nine runs and registering six RBIs as MIT earned a pair of NEWMAC victories. Chi was 2-for-4 with three runs scored in a 17-2 win over Emerson before going 4-for-6 with two runs scored and three RBIs in a midweek non-conference loss to Mitchell. He closed out the week going 3-for-5 with four runs scored in a 14-4 victory over WPI. He ranks second in the NEWMAC with a .455 batting average through 15 games.

Offensive Player of the Week – Joey Allen (Gr., A), Babson College

Joey Allen (Philadelphia, Pa.) put up five goals and one assist for six points as No. 6/6 Babson split a pair of games last week. He scored three times in the Beavers’ 12-8 loss to No. 2/2 Bowdoin on Tuesday night and followed it up with two goals and one assist in Saturday’s 16-6 victory at Salve Regina.Â

Defensive Player of the Week – Andrew Almquist (So., GK), Babson College

Andrew Almquist (Wakefield, Mass.) was terrific in two starts, totaling 35 saves and posting a 9.00 goals against average to go along with a .660 save percentage. He made 15 saves in a 12-8 loss to No. 2/2 Bowdoin on Tuesday night and followed it up by stopping 20 shots, which was just one below his career high, to help the Beavers defeat Salve Regina, 16-6, on Saturday.Â

Beau Burns (Washington, D.C.) won 17-of-31 face-offs (54.8 percent) and scooped up 13 ground balls as No. 6/6 Babson split a pair of games. He bounced back from a 6-of-17 night in the Beavers’ 12-8 loss to No. 2/2 Bowdoin on Tuesday by winning 11-of-14 face-offs and collecting nine ground balls in Saturday’s 16-6 victory at Salve Regina.Â

Offensive Player of the Week – Lilly Bedard (Sr., A), Babson College

Lilly Bedard (Jupiter, Fla.) produced seven goals and seven assists for 14 points as Babson went 2-1 with a pair of league wins last week. She scored a season-high four goals and added two assists for six points in Wednesday’s 18-3 win over Wellesley and followed it up with three goals and career highs of four assists and seven points, all in the first half, as the Beavers beat Smith 16-8 on Saturday. Bedard capped the week by extending her points streak to eight games in a loss to No. 1/1 Middlebury.Â

Courtney Laden (Wilmette, Ill.) finished the week with 10 draw controls, five ground balls, and three caused turnovers in a 2-1 week for Babson. She recorded five draw controls and two ground balls in Wednesday’s 18-3 win over Wellesley, contributed four draw controls, three caused turnovers, and two ground balls in Saturday’s 16-8 victory over Smith, and chipped in with one ground ball and one draw control in Sunday’s loss to No. 1/1 Middlebury.Â

Pitcher of the Week- Naomi Boldebuck (Jr., P), WPI Â Â

Naomi Boldebuck (Billerica, Mass.) went 2-0, including her second career no-hitter, with a 1.62 ERA across two appearances.  The junior totaled 13.0 innings as WPI posted a 4-0 record against Worcester State and Wellesley. She allowed just seven hits while striking out seven and walking only one. Boldebuck delivered a dominant performance in the Worcester State opener, tossing a six-inning no-hitter while striking out five. She followed with a complete-game effort against Wellesley to kick off the Crimson and Gray’s NEWMAC-opening road sweep of Wellesley.

Athlete of the Week- Amelia DeRosa (Sr., P/3B), Springfield College

Amelia DeRosa (Miller Place, N.Y.) lifted Springfield to four wins this week with a .429 batting average (.6-for-14). DeRosa recorded a team-best nine RBI, including seven in a doubleheader against Eastern Connecticut on Wednesday. The senior infielder also scored eight of Springfield's 37 runs on the week, notched three doubles, one triple, and drew three walks.
DeRosa also went 2-0 in the circle for the Pride, pitching a five-inning, two-hit, complete game shutout in Springfield's NEWMAC opener against Salve Regina on Sunday. DeRosa struck out eight of the 18 Seahawks she faced and needed only 48 pitches to earn the 11-0 win for the Pride.

Filippo Nocchi (Pontedera, Italy) posted a 2-0 record in a 2-0 week for the Lions, winning both of his matches at No. 1 singles as the Lions posted wins over Salve Regina and Coast Guard. Was a double winner in Emerson's 7-0 win over Salve Regina on Friday, drawing the Lions within a point of the match win with his 6-1, 6-1 sweep of senior Jacob Faulise at No. 1 singles. Battled back after dropping the first set in a tiebreaker to post a 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles against Coast Guard junior Ben Bonetto on Sunday.

Jaime Gálligo (Madrid, Spain) and
Landon Wyshner (Winston Salem, N.C.) posted a perfect 2-0 mark on the week, including 1-0 in NEWMAC play. Gálligo and Wyshner began the week with a 6-3 win at Bridgewater State over Bears' senior Adam Beatrice (Rockland, Mass.) and sophomore Khiem Nguyen (Burlington, Vt.) at number one. The Lyon pairing closed the week with a 6-3 victory over Springfield College's tandem of first-year Austin Prendiville (City Beach, Australia) and senior Marc Villanueva Abad (Barcelona, Mexico) at the top spot.

Singles Player of the Week – Saina Deshpande (Jr.), MIT

Saina Deshpande (Pune, India) produced a 3-1 record at No. 1 singles in a 3-1 week for MIT. Last Monday in a 5-2 victory at No. 29 Redlands, she lost a tough 6-4, 6-7 (3-7), 10-4 battle. The next day, Deshpande bounced back with a 6-4, 7-5 victory as the Engineers defeated No. 31 Caltech, 7-0. Facing top-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Thursday, she recorded MIT’s only point courtesy of a 7-6 (7-4), 1-6, 10-8 win. In a 5-2 victory at No. 8 Pomona-Pitzer, Deshpande capped off the week with a 7-5, 6-2 win.

Katie Driscoll (Easton, Conn.) generated a 3-1 record at No. 3 doubles. Last Monday, in a 5-2 victory at No. 29 Redlands, the duo lost a tough 7-6 (11-9) battle. The next day, in a 7-0 win at No. 31 Caltech, Samets and Driscoll captured the doubles point with a 6-2 decision. Facing top-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Thursday, they won 7-6 (7-5) but lost the match 6-1. Samets and Driscoll wrapped up the week with a 6-2 win as MIT defeated No. 8 Pomona-Pitzer, 5-2.Â

Skyler Mott (Mills Neck, N.Y.) recorded two of the top marks in the country in the high jump and triple jump at the season-opening Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational back on March 20. He cleared 6-feet, 9.75-inches (2.08m) in the high jump, which ranks second in Division III, while his mark of 46-feet, 2.75-inches (14.09m) in the triple jump currently ranks 16th nationally.Â

th-place finish in the 110m Hurdles at the Raleigh Relays. Ellis' time of 14.57 seconds was the top time in the region and a top-ten time nationally to open the outdoor season.

Elaine Wang (West Des Moines, Iowa) set a personal record in the javelin with a throw of 43.76m (143'7") to finish 11th at the Raleigh Relays. Her mark ranked inside the top ten in MIT program history, is a top-five throw nationally, and the top mark in the region to begin the outdoor season.

Marcilee Kinerman (Atlanta, Ga.)Â set a new school record with a time of 48.95 at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational to open the season back on March 20. They also finished first by nearly two seconds with a time of 49.55 at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic on Saturday.Â

Shreya Kalyan (Sr.), MIT

Shreya Kalyan (Troy, Mich.) excelled in a pair of sprint events at the Raleigh Relays, delivering a personal record of 24.92 in the 200m to finish 52nd overall and a time of 56.57 to finish 51st in the 400m. Kalyan's time in the 200m is currently the 13th best in the nation and the third best in the region, while her time in the 400m ranks in the top ten nationally and second in the region.
