Wheaton Snares Top Seed in 2025 NEWMAC Men's Soccer Championship

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. - With the conclusion of the regular season this evening, the NEWMAC has released the 2025 Men's Soccer Championship bracket, which consists of six teams battling for NEWMAC supremacy.

Wheaton (7-0-1) secured the top seed and a first-round bye. The Lyons, sitting at No. 12 in the NCAA NPI rankings, boast the top three goal scorers in the conference in Declan Rhatigan, Gael Vera, and Aidan Doyle, who all sit atop the conference with nine goals. Wheaton will await the winner of the match-up between No. 4 Emerson (3-4-1) and No. 5 WPI (3-4-1). Emerson's Cade Mallett leads the NEWMAC with three game-winning goals, while WPI has three players with three goals, including senior Fabio Bastida-Andreu.  

Babson College (4-2-2) earned the second seed and the right to host a semifinal game with a first-round bye. The Beaver's Alexander Yablonovskiy is second in the NEWMAC with eight goals. Babson will face the winner of the No. 6 Springfield (3-4-1) and No. 3 Coast Guard (3-1-4) battle. Coast Guard's Cole Miller leads the Bears with five goals this season. Springfield's Connor Thornton leads the Pride with seven goals.

Semifinal matchups will take place on Thursday, November 6.

On Saturday, November 8th, the winners of each semifinal will compete in the NEWMAC Championship game. 

Tickets for NEWMAC championship events can be purchased through the NEWMAC box office. The NEWMAC encourages fans to purchase their mobile tickets in advance of the event to streamline the entry process on game day. Spectators may purchase mobile tickets on site, but no cash option will be available. Ticket prices are $10 for general admission. Children 12 and under and NEWMAC students with a valid institutional ID are free and do not need to purchase a mobile ticket. Once a matchup is confirmed following each round of the championship, the tickets will become available.

All rounds of the NEWMAC Men's Soccer Championship will be available for streaming on FloSports.
