MIT Claims Top Seed in 2025 NEWMAC Women's Soccer Championship

NEWMAC Women's Soccer Championship Tickets 

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – With the conclusion of the 2025 women's soccer regular season on Saturday evening, the NEWMAC has released the 2025 NEWMAC Women's Soccer Championship bracket. The tournament will consist of eight teams that will compete for the crown, which will begin on Tuesday, November 4, with the quarterfinal round.

Defending NEWMAC champions MIT (10-0-1) secured the top seed in the championship tournament and will host the eighth-seeded Wellesley College (3-5-3) on Tuesday. The Engineers sit at No. 20 in the latest NCAA NPI rankings and are led by Natalie Barnouw’s conference-leading 15 goals.  Wellesley goalkeeper Riley McNair leads the league with seven shutouts.  

Springfield College (8-3-0) emerged as the second seed and will host seventh-seeded U.S. Coast Guard Academy (4-6-1) on Tuesday. Springfield’s Meredith Healey leads the Pride with eight goals, including three game-winners. Coast Guard goalkeeper Julia Little has posted five shutouts this season.

No. 3 Emerson College (7-2-2) will host No. 6 WPI (5-4-2). Emerson goalkeeper Hailey Forman leads the league with a 1.125 goals against average, while WPI’s Abigail Johnson has netted seven goals.

The final semifinal match-up is between the fourth-seeded Babson College (7-3-1) and the fifth-seeded Wheaton College (6-5-0). Babson is led offensively by Josie Lee’s six goals, while Wheaton’s Kate Wickenheisser has tallied seven.

On Thursday, November 6, the winner of the No. 5 Wheaton and No. 4 Babson matchup will take on the winner of the No. 1 MIT and No. 8 Wellesley battle, while the winner of No. 3 Emerson and No. 6 WPI will advance to play the winner of No. 2 Springfield and No. 7 Coast Guard.

The semifinal winners will then compete for the NEWMAC title on Saturday, November 8th. 

Tickets for NEWMAC championship events can be purchased through the NEWMAC box office. The NEWMAC encourages fans to purchase their mobile tickets in advance of the event to streamline the entry process on game day. Spectators may purchase mobile tickets on site, but no cash option will be available. Ticket prices are $10 for general admission. Children 12 and under and NEWMAC students with a valid institutional ID are free and do not need to purchase a mobile ticket. Once a matchup is confirmed following each round of the championship, the tickets will become available.

All rounds of the NEWMAC Women’s Soccer Championship will be available for streaming on FloSports.
