WESTWOOD, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has released the 2023 Men’s Track and Field Major Awards and All-Conference honorees.

Babson sophomore Anthony Rodriguez was recognized as the 2023 NEWMAC Athlete of the Year after pulling off the impressive double of winning the 10,000 meter and 5,000 meter runs to claim 20 team points for Babson at the NEWMAC Championship meet.  

MIT sophomore Sam Engebretson earned 2023 NEWMAC Field Athlete of the Year plaudits after sweeping the shot put, discus and hammer throw at the NEWMAC Championship meet. He earned 30 team points and helped the Engineers cruise to the team title.

MIT first year Jackson Bliey was named the NEWMAC Rookie of the Year after winning the high jump, as well as placing third in the shot put and javelin to earn 22 team points for the Engineers at the NEWMAC Championship meet.

Springfield won the Coaching Staff of the Year honor after the Pride placed second in the NEWMAC Championship meet. The Pride Head Coach is Mike Miller. He is assisted by Charles Shoffner, Anna Steinman, Molly Sear, Alexandra Headley, Virendran Selvaraj and Liam Murphy.  

The Men’s Track and Field All-Conference Team consists of the first and second place finisher in each event to comprise the First Team and Second Team. The 54 student-athletes are listed below.
