The NEWMAC announced Kaleigh Putnam as the conference’s first Assistant Director for Championships and Governance in July 2024.

In her role as the Assistant Director for Championships and Governance she manages the administration of the conference's 20 sports and 19 championships, serving as the primary liaison to sport committees, standing committees and working groups, and Coordinators of Officials. Putnam oversees championship operations, including bracket seeding, game scheduling, vendor relations, and expense reconciliation, while assisting in the development of regular season schedules. In addition to championship administration, she supports the conference's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), and the coordination of conference-wide meetings and events.

Putnam comes to the NEWMAC from the America East, where she served as the Assistant Director of Content and Administration. At the America East, Putnam was tasked with the support and coordination of sport administration and championships, and served as the primary content contact for several sports, including cross country, track & field, and softball. Putnam also worked closely with student-athletes, assisting with student-athlete engagement activities, and managing a conference-wide mental health initiative.

Prior to her experience at the America East, she was an Athletic Administration Graduate Associate at NEWMAC member institution, Springfield College, where she coordinated championship events, oversaw student-athlete leadership programming, and managed game day operations for 20+ sports while earning a Master in Athletic Administration. A former Division III student-athlete, Putnam played basketball at Endicott College, where she graduated with a degree in Sport Management.
