WESTWOOD, Mass. - Eight women's lacrosse student-athletes from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Berkshire All-Region First and Second Teams.
Two student-athletes garnered accolades on the First Team in the 2019 NEWMAC Offensive Player of the Year in Babson attack Lexi Lenaghan and the 2019 NEWMAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year Babson defender Mairead Williams.
Six student-athletes were named to the Second Team with 2019 NEWMAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year Springfield defender Andie Stone and 2019 NEWMAC Rookie of the Year MIT midfielder Eva Then. Joining Stone and Then were MIT attack Cecilia McCormick, Springfield attacker Kate Sarnacki, Babson midfielder Juliana McGuire and Babson attack Georgia Salvatore.
The IWLCA has honored 256 student-athletes in Division III with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2019. These student-athletes are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team. The IWLCA will celebrate the 2019 All-Americans during Divisional All-American Specials, which will be aired on Lax Sports Network in mid-June.
