WPI Tabbed Preseason Favorite in Rowing Coaches' Poll

WESTWOOD, Mass. - After an exciting 2018 season that finished with two league teams advancing to the NCAA Championships, the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) is looking forward to the upcoming season with the 2019 Rowing Preseason Coaches' Poll. 

WPI was tabbed the preseason favorite with six first place votes, after a third place team finish at the 2018 NCAA Championship, while Wellesley, the 2018 team national runner-up, earns the No. 2 spot. Smith claims the No. 3 spot with one first-place vote, followed by No. 4 Coast Guard. Rounding out the final three spots are No. 5 Simmons, No. 6 Mount Holyoke and No. 7 Clark. 

The NEWMAC welcomes back nine All-Conference and two CRCA All-America honorees in WPI's Christine Hovermale and Marlies de Jong.
