WESTWOOD, Mass. - The New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) and d3hoops.com All-Region Teams have been release for the 2018-19 season. Five student-athltes from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's basketball student-athletes were selected for All-Region honors in Babson's Payton Ouimette, MIT's Kara Holinski and Christina Antonakakis, along with Smith's Lauren Bondi and Kennedy Guest-Pritchett.
Highlighting the d3hoops.com honors was Bondi who earned Second Team honors, while Guest Pritchett and Ouimette garnered Third Team accolades. Holinski was named to the Fourth Team.
Players were nominated for the d3hoops.com awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools, who were contacted multiple times as the season wound down to remind them to make their players eligible. There were 716 players nominated nationwide. The ballot was then made available to SIDs, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region.
Bondi led the NEWBA awards for the NEWMAC, as the senior was named to the First Team, followed by teammate Guest-Pritchett with a Second Team honor and Ouimette earning Third Team accolades. Antonakakis was selected to the All-Rookie Team.
Nominations for NEWBA awards and All-Region were submitted by both coaches and sports information directors in the region, and selections were made based on a vote by coaches. More information on all honorees can be found below. Statistics include conference tournament games.
