WPI Tabbed First In Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll

WESTWOOD, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) is looking forward to another outstanding season for the league's eight men's soccer teams, as the NEWMAC revealed the 2018 Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll, after a competitive preseason vote that saw four teams earn first place votes.

WPI, the reigning NEWMAC champion, edged out the competition with the most first place votes of four, followed by second-place Babson with one first place vote. In a tie for third, Springfield, who earned an at-large bid to the 2017 NCAA tournament and reached the NCAA second round, picked up two first place votes, while Coast Guard earned one first place vote. Clark and MIT followed in a tie for fifth, while No. 7 Wheaton and No. 8 Emerson round out the remaining slots.

The 2018 season will welcome back 11 All-Conference winners, two All-Region selections (Christian Schneider, Springfield; Paul Beatty, WPI;) and the NEWMAC Rookie of the Year in MIT's Loukas Carayannopoulos.
