WPI Men’s Basketball Head Coach
Chris Bartley was selected as the College Basketball Officials Association (CBOA) 2025 recipient of the Sam Schoenfeld Sportsmanship Award.
The Sam Schoenfeld Award is the most prestigious honor presented by the collegiate basketball officiating community. It is reserved for coaches who consistently demonstrate exceptional sportsmanship, respect for the game, and integrity in their leadership.
Bartley recently completed his 25
th season at the helm for the Engineers, during which he led WPI to a NEWMAC regular season title and an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament.
Bartley is the first honoree from the NEWMAC.

The NEWMAC is an association of 12 selective academic institutions: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast Guard Academy, Emerson College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke College, Salve Regina University, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, that are committed to providing high quality competitive athletic opportunities for student-athletes within an educational and respectful environment that embodies the NCAA Division III Philosophy.
