NEWMAC Men's Soccer Championship Tournament Field Set

Marlborough, Mass. - October 31, 2026 - The 2026 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men’s soccer regular season has been completed and the six-team NEWMAC Championship Tournament field has been set.

Babson won the 2026 NEWMAC Men's Soccer Regular Season title for the 12th time in its program history and will receive a first round bye alongside second-seeded Wheaton College. The Beavers completed an unbeaten regular season at 5-0-3 after a 2-0 win over Coast Guard on Saturday afternoon at home, while the Lyons defeated Springfield on Saturday to complete their slate at 4-1-3. Wheaton will be competing in its second straight NEWMAC tournament after earning the top-seed a season ago, but is still looking for the program's first postseason title since 2013. Babson and Wheaton have combined for a total of 20 NEWMAC titles in 27 years of conference history.

The Beavers will await the winner of #4 Coast Guard and #5 Emerson, who will meet in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday afternoon in New London. The Bears edged the Lions, 1-0, in Connecticut back on October 10. Emerson secured its berth to the 2026 NEWMAC Men's Soccer Championship Tournament after a thrilling 3-1 win over MIT on the road on Saturday. In order for the Lions to have made the postseason, they needed to knock off both WPI & MIT this week and the Lions did just that, 1-0, and 3-1.

The other first round match will feature third-seeded MIT and sixth-seeded WPI. Cambridge's Engineers wrapped up their regular season at 4-2-2 after today's setback to Emerson, while WPI earned a draw in its season finale at Salve Regina on Saturday to finish 2-3-3. MIT and WPI met back on September 19 in both team's first NEWMAC game of the year with the result ending in a 2-2 draw.

A champion will be crowned on Sunday, November 8 at the site of the highest remaining seed. The winner will receive the NEWMAC's automatic berth to the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer National Championship Tournament.

Babson will enter next week's tournament as winners of five of the last six NEWMAC men's soccer titles. Since the NEWMAC began in 1998, Babson has claimed 12 of 27 championship titles. The second most NEWMAC Championships belongs to Wheaton (8) followed by Springfield (4), WPI (2) and MIT (1).

All games next week will be streamed on FloCollege. If you haven't done so already, you can purchase your subscription here: flosports.link/464f4pc.

If attending games on campus, all tickets will be $10. NEWMAC students will be admitted free of charge with the proof of a student ID.
