NEWMAC Welcomes Interns Jack Dunaisky and Ruth Tullis to the Staff

MARLBOROUGH, Mass.- The NEWMAC is excited to welcome Jack Dunaisky and Ruth Tullis to the staff as a part of the internship program that Associate Executive Director of the NEWMAC, Taylor Teixeira, established. The goal of the program is to help develop skills in students from NEWMAC member institutions who are interested in pursuing a career in college athletics, as well as to allow them an opportunity to work alongside, learn from, and network with administrators in the field. Dunaisky joins the staff as the Administration, Branding, and Communications Intern, while Tullis will serve as the Championships and Governance Intern.

In his position, Dunaisky will have an opportunity to work in sports governance, championships, and strategic communications. Tullis will be involved in all facets of conference operations, including assisting in the establishment and administration of conference governance processes. Both Dunaisky and Tullis will also aid in SAAC programming and the execution of conference championships.

A senior at NEWMAC member institution Springfield College, Dunaisky is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management, with minors in Sports Analytics and Business Management. He has previously interned in the Springfield Athletic Department, where he handled in-game statistics for numerous sports. Dunaisky also manned the camera and oversaw the livestream feed for many athletic events on campus, including those streamed via NEWMAC media partner FloSports. Dunaisky is a baseball student-athlete and is also a member of Springfield’s Student-Athlete Leadership Team.

Tullis is a junior at Smith College working towards a Bachelor of Psychology, with a minor in Exercise Sports Science. She currently interns with the Smith College Athletics Department, creating content for Smith’s social media platforms, amongst other responsibilities. She also works with the USA Sitting Volleyball National Teams, producing analytics to support athlete development. Tullis is a women’s volleyball student-athlete for the Bears.

Teixeira looks forward to collaborating with Ruth and Jack, as well as guiding them in their endeavors over the course of their internships.

“We are excited to welcome Ruth and Jack as interns this semester. The opportunity for our office to not only support their development as aspiring athletic administrators but also strengthen our engagement with students from across our membership is truly unique,” expressed Teixeira. “Ruth and Jack will play an integral role in our operations this semester, and we look forward to helping them reach their goals.”
