Springfield Takes Top Seed in 2025 NEWMAC Men's Lacrosse Championship

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. - With the conclusion of the regular season, the NEWMAC has revealed the 2025 Men's Lacrosse Championship bracket. The men's tournament consists of five teams that will compete for the title of NEWMAC Champion, beginning on Tuesday, April 29 with the opening round. 

Springfield secured the top seed with a perfect 7-0 record and the right to host a semifinal game with a first-round bye. Jake Degnan has contributed 35 goals this season and will look to be an impact player in the postseason.

Babson (5-2) claimed the No. 2 seed by virtue of a tiebreaker with MIT and will host a semifinal game with a first-round bye. The Beavers goalkeeper Alex Fascilla leads the league with an 8.79 goals against average. MIT (5-2) took the third seed with their win today and will advance to the semifinal round to face Babson. MIT’s Bryce Metalios leads the Engineers with 32 goals.

Salve Regina University (4-3) claimed the number four seed in a tiebreaker with No. 5 Coast Guard (4-3) and will host the Bears on April 29th in a first-round match-up. The Seahawks will look to Daniel Naglieri to help create offense, as he leads the league with 38 assists. Coast Guard is led by Eric Key’s 37 goals and 20 assists. 

The winner of the first-round game will travel to the top-seeded Springfield Pride for a semifinal matchup on Thursday, May 1.
The semifinal winners will advance to the title game on Saturday, May 3rd at the site of the highest remaining seed.  

Tickets for NEWMAC championship events can be purchased through the NEWMAC box office. The NEWMAC encourages fans to purchase their mobile tickets in advance of the event to streamline the entry process on game day. Spectators may purchase mobile tickets on site, but no cash option will be available. Ticket prices are $10 for general admission. Children 12 and under and NEWMAC students with a valid institutional ID are free and do not need to purchase a mobile ticket. Once a matchup is confirmed following each round of the championship the tickets will become available.

All rounds of the NEWMAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship will be available for streaming on FloSports. Semifinal and final action will be produced by NEWMAC partner Northeast Sports Network.
