MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – With the conclusion of the regular season, the NEWMAC has announced the seeds for the 2025 Women's Tennis Championship bracket. The championship tournament will consist of six teams that will compete for the NEWMAC title, with matches beginning on Tuesday, April 29.
MIT claimed the top seed and regular season title with a perfect 8-0 record and collected hosting rights for the semifinal and final rounds. MIT enters the postseason ranked fourth in the NCAA regional rankings, with
Fiona Lee ranked sixth in the region in singles competition.
Alaina Kolli and
Artemis Pados also received regional ranking consideration as a doubles team.
Wellesley (7-1) finished as the No. 2 seed and will also receive a first-round bye. Wellesley is currently ranked 16
th in the nation by the ITA. The Blue will await the winner of No. 3 Babson College and No. 6 Wheaton College (3-5). Babson’s
Olivia Soffer and
Matia Cristiani are ranked second and fifth in the region, respectively, and team up for the third ranking in doubles competition.
Top-seeded MIT will host the winner of the match between No. 5 Springfield and No. 4 Smith on Saturday, May 3. The winners of each semifinal contest will meet in the championship game on Sunday, May 4 at MIT.
