AVCA Announces Women's Volleyball All-American Teams; 12 From NEWMAC Honored

The AVCA has announced its 44th annual All-America teams for NCAA Division III women’s volleyball.

The 2025 teams include 42 players—14 on the first, second, and third teams—from 27 schools. Ithaca College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology lead the way with three total All-America selections, as both schools placed a player on the first, second, and third teams.

NEWMAC and AVCA Region II Player of the Year Kayleigh May was a first-team selection for the second-straight season. May leads all of NCAA Division III with 11.12 assists per set and compiled 1168 assists this season, which currently puts her at 11th in Division III.

Ali Gibbs was a second-team selection, averaging 0.70 blocks per set and compiling 76 total blocks. She also hit at a .370 clip, which was second in the NEWMAC.

AVCA Region II Freshman of the Year Ella Zhou was a third-team selection. Zhou averaged 3.30 kills per set on .231 hitting, as well as 0.50 service aces per set and 3.92 points per set, both of which led the Engineers. She was also voted the NEWMAC Rookie of the Year.

The NEWMAC also saw nine land Honorable Mention accolades, with student-athletes from Babson College, MIT, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and Springfield College earning a spot.
