Morgan Morrison, Smith College
Morgan Morrison is a 2023 graduate of Smith College, earning a degree in Engineering, finishing with a 3.48 GPA. The student-athlete is a NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honoree and a Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 honor roll member.
As a basketball student-athlete, Morrison was the WBCA 2022-2023 Division III Player of the Year and All-American selection. She was the Honda Division III Basketball Athlete of the Year and the 2022-2023 D3hoops.com National Player of the Year and All-American. She was also the NEWMAC Athlete of the Year for the 2022-2023 season. She helped Smith to a 30-2 overall record, which is a program best for wins in a season.
Off the court, Morrison was a member of the Smith chapter of the Society of Women Engineers, acting as the Social Events Chair and secretary. She was a student liaison for the Picker Engineering Department and was also a member of the Sports Committee for Inclusion and Diversity.

Samantha Hourihan, Springfield College
Samantha Hourihan is a 2023 graduate of Springfield College, earning a degree in Health Science Pre-Physical Therapy, with a minor in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies, earning the Magna Cum Laude distinction. She was a three-time NEWMAC All-Academic team selection, a two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Selection and earned Dean’s List in each of her eligible semesters.
As a women’s basketball student-athlete, Hourihan was a 2022 and 2023 WBCA Honorable Mention All-American, as well as a 2023 D3hoops.com Preseason All-American. She has earned NEWBA and D3hoops.com Regional honors in 2020, 2022 and 2023. She was a three-time NEWMAC First Team All-Conference selection, and the 2020 NEWMAC Co-Rookie of the Year. She was also the D3hoops.com Northeast Region Rookie of the Year. She scored 1,000 points, finishing ninth on Springfield’s all-time scoring list. She earned the 2022 and 2023 Top Team Sport Female Athlete of the Year at Springfield and the 2023 Director of Athletics Leadership Award.
Off the court, Hourihan was a co-founder of Minds in Motion, a mental health club at Springfield. The club’s mission was to break down the stigma of mental health and help start conversations about mental health. She took part in the Pride Cares training program at Springfield, where she received training to offer peer-to-peer support for mental health. She also acted as the Student Trustee on Springfield’s Board of Trustees, a position which held voting privileges and represented the student body interest at board meetings.

Mikaili Charlemagne, Springfield College
Mikaili Charlemagne is a 2023 graduate, earning a degree in Health Science, and graduating Magna Cum Laude from Springfield College. She made the Dean’s List eight times and was a member of the Honors Program. She was named to the CSCAA Division III Scholar Team in 2022.
As a swimming and diving student-athlete, Charlemagne was a first-team All-American in the 50 Freestyle, as well as the NEWMAC Champion. She also earned three second team All-Conference honors in the 100 Freestyle, the 200 Freestyle Relay and the 400 Freestyle Relay. She set school records in the 200 Free Relay and the 200 Medley Relay, and earned Top Individual Sport Athlete of the Year honors at Springfield. Charlemagne is the Saint Lucia national record holder in short course and long course meter for the 50 Freestyle, 50 Fly, 100 Freestyle and 100 Fly. She represented Saint Lucia in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, the 2022 Aquatic World Championships and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She was named the Saint Lucia Junior Sports Woman of the Year in 2022.
Out of the pool, Charlemagne was a student researcher, assisting in a reliability study for Pulse Wave Velocity, a project aimed at advancing our understanding of cardiovascular health, which she presented at the New England Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine conference in 2022.

Lindsey Blake, U.S. Coast Guard Academy
Lindsey Blake is a 2023 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, earning a degree in Operations and Data Analytics and graduating with High Honors. She was an Executive Officer of her company’s command staff, where she was directly responsible for managing the logistics of the company and overseeing the professional development of the 129 cadets within her company. She was a second team CSCAA Scholar All-American in 2022.
As a swimming and diving student-athlete, Blake was named the Coast Guard MVP in 2022 and garnered the Most Improved Award in 2023. She was second in the 500 Freestyle at the 2023 NEWMAC Championship, and third in the 1650 Freestyle.
During her senior year, the student-athlete worked on a project with three peers, in which the group analyzed Coast Guard Cutter weather logs, finding a repeatable way to extract information from the logs and visualize it in a way that could be used for future Coast Guard operations.
Lindsay Strong, Wellesley College
Lindsay Strong is a 2023 graduate of Wellesley College, earning a degree in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science, boasting a 3.80 GPA. Strong is a three-time NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honoree and a three-time member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) National Academic Squad.
As a field hockey student-athlete, Strong was a 2021 NFHCA Third Team All-American selection, and a two-time All-Region honoree. She was a NEWMAC first-team All-Conference selection in 2021 and 2022. She also won the 2023 Barbara Barnes Hauptfuhrer ’49 Scholar-Athlete Award, which is awarded annually to the Wellesley College senior who best combines excellence in scholarship, leadership, sportsmanship and athletic achievement.
Off the field, Strong served on Wellesley’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). She interned for College Sports Evaluation, an event technology service providing data and analytics for athlete performance evaluation. She also worked as an athletic training aide, assisting Wellesley athletic trainers in providing treatment for student-athletes.
Madeline Eller, Wheaton College
Madeline Eller is a 2023 graduate of Wheaton College, earning a degree in Biochemistry, and graduating Summa Cum Laude. Eller was a four-time CSCAA Scholar All-American and a three-time NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honoree.
As a swimming student-athlete, Eller earned second team All-American honors on seven occasions, most recently in 2023 for the 200 Medley Relay. She also earned All-Conference honors seven times in her career. She holds the school record in the 50 Breaststroke and the 100 Breaststroke, and was part of the record-breaking 200 Freestyle Relay, the 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Medley Relay.
In 2023, the student-athlete was awarded the Dean Sue Alexander Female Senior Student-Athlete Award, the Elita Pastra-Landis Prize in Biochemistry, and the Linda F. Epstein Award. She served as a Wheaton athletic mentor and was a member of Wheaton’s Women in STEM and Pre-Health Society. She also served as President of the KAOS dance club. Her article Preliminary study on the effect of cortisol on ‘Gallus Gallus” Schwann cell myelination was published in the Wheaton Journal of Neurobiology Research in 2022, while another article Testing the health of natural runoff streams by comparing hatching rates of “Artemia salina” was published in the Wheaton Journal of Developmental Biology Research in 2021.
Sydney Packard, WPI
Sydney Packard earned an undergraduate degree from WPI in Chemical Engineering, going on to pursue a master’s in chemical engineering. She earned CSC Academic All-American honors three times and was a six-time Academic All-District honoree. She was awarded the National Science Foundation Research Traineeship CEDAR Fellows Award in 2023.
As a track and field student-athlete, Packard earned nine first-team All-American accolades over the course of her career. She was a five-time All-New England Division III Champion, earning 15 All-New England Division III regional honors. She was an eight-time NEWMAC champion, and a 11-time NEWMAC all-conference honoree. She helped her team to back-to-back NEWMAC titles in 2021 and 2022, and was named the NEWMAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Year in 2021. She was awarded the 2022-2023 Sue Chapman Award, presented to the best senior female student-athlete over the course of her career.
Off the track, Packard is a graduate teaching assistant for senior level courses. Her Ph.D studies are focused on advancing the understanding of bacterial biofilm infections. She has developed an image analysis method, and has received a National Science Foundation fellowship in machine learning and data science, which we she will use to create Artificial Intelligence tools for biofilm characterization and treatment methods.
