NEWMAC Football Offensive Athlete of the Week

Zachary Levy, WPI (Grad., RB – Bellingham, Mass.)

The graduate student rumbled for a career-high 219 yards on just 19 carries during the Engineers 38-6 victory over Coast Guard on Saturday afternoon. The graduate student registered a pair of 44-yard touchdown scampers in the third quarter, marking the second time this season he found the endzone twice in a game. Levy, WPI's leading rusher in 2021, also eclipsed the 200-yard benchmark for Curry where he played as an undergraduate in 2018 versus Becker and as a junior in 2019 against Nichols.

NEWMAC Football Defensive Athlete of the Week

Billy Carr, Springfield (So., LB – Southington, Conn.)

The sophomore headlined a Springfield defense that held MIT to just seven points as the Pride improved to 5-0 in conference play. Carr led Springfield with six tackles, including four solo stops, and had a key sack late in the fourth quarter to seal the win. His two tackles for losses totalled 12 yards. For the game, Springfield allowed just 181 yards of total offense as MIT only had six first downs in the game, was 2-of-14 on third down, and totaled just 51 yards of offense in the second half as the Pride held them off the scoreboard for the final 36-plus minutes of the contest.

NEWMAC Football Special Teams Athlete of the Week

Patrick Tuohy, Springfield (Sr., P – Columbia, Conn.)

In Springfield's 17-7 victory at MIT, the senior's play on special teams was critical in the battle for field position. The senior punted the ball five times for 203 yards, including a long of 55 yards. More importantly, Tuohy pinned MIT inside their 20 on four occasions, including three times inside the six-yard line.
