NEWMAC Highlights Men's Cross Country Postseason Honors, MIT's Taylor and Babson's Brennen Selected As Co-Coaches of the Year
WESTWOOD, Mass – Following Saturday's 2021 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Cross Country Championship, MIT's Halston Taylor and Babson's Russ Brennen have been selected as the 2021 NEWMAC Men's Cross Country Co-Coaches of the Year.
Taylor led the Engineers to its 23rd-straight NEWMAC victory with 15 points and coached Ryan Wilson and Pablo Arroyo, the 2021 NEWMAC Runner and Rookie of the Year, respectively. Brennen led the Beavers to a third-place finish with 90 points, the program's best finish since 2016 and matches the team's top performance all-time.
This is the 18th honor for Taylor and first nod for Brennen.
MIT's Wilson was named the Runner of the Year after finishing first in 24.58.8, while teammate Arroyo picked up Rookie of the Year honors after finishing as the top first-year in 16th place and a time of 26:03.5.
The 2021 NEWMAC Men's Cross Country All-Conference Team was also announced on Saturday with the top 14 finishers earning honors.
