The senior had an explosive performance in Springfield's 56-7 win at Norwich as the running back needed just five carries to rush for 144 yards and two touchdowns. Cashwell-Doe averaged nearly 30 yards per rush and broke out for a 66-yard touchdown in the second quarter and added a 42-yard score in the third quarter. Cashwell-Doe highlighted an offense that totaled 516 yards of offense and 438 yards on the ground as the Pride has now scored 116 points through two conference games. NEWMAC Football Defensive Athlete of the Week DJ Brown, Springfield (Jr., LB – Wading River, N.Y.) The junior continued his tremendous year as he led a Springfield defense in the Pride's 56-7 win over Norwich. Springfield, which has allowed just one touchdown in its last 10 quarters of play and outscored NEWMAC opponents 116-7 through two games, was anchored by Brown's efforts against the Cadets which resulted in six tackles, a sack with a tackle for loss of seven yards, a forced fumble, and one pass break up. NEWMAC Football Special Teams Athlete of the Week Jackson Tinkis, Merchant Marine (Fy., K – Bossier City, La.) The first-year continues to be perfect on points-after-touchdowns this season, as he went 6-for-6 on Saturday in the Mariners' 56-34 home victory over MIT. He hit two second-quarter field goals, the first from 24 yards and the second as time ran out in the half from 33 yards. Tinkis also averaged 50.6 yards on nine kickoffs (455 yards total) with four touchbacks.
