NEWMAC Football Offensive Athlete of the Week

Madden Lowe, Catholic (So., QB – Stafford, Va.)

The sophomore threw for over 300 yards and four touchdowns as the Cardinals posted a 30-7 NEWMAC victory over WPI. He completed 37-of-48 passes for a career-best 77.1 percent and 315 yards, eclipsing the 300-yard mark for the third time this season. Lowe, who completed a pass to 11 different receivers, also had at least three passing touchdowns for the third time this year. Catholic has now won six of its last nine games overall and three-straight in the NEWMAC dating back to 2019.

NEWMAC Football Defensive Athlete of the Week

Eric Davidson, Merchant Marine (Sr., LB – Savannah, Ga.)

The senior led the Mariners with 10 tackles in their 49-14 road NEWMAC victory at Norwich on Saturday. The linebacker recorded two tackles for combined losses of seven yards, including one sack that dropped the Cadets back six yards and helped hold the Cadets' offense to 175 total offensive yards. 

NEWMAC Football Special Teams Athlete of the Week

Christian Hutra, Springfield (Jr., K – Holmes, N.Y.)

The junior played a critical role in Springfield earning a 60-0 win over Coast Guard on Saturday. The junior accounted for 11 points, including field goals from 34 and 33 yards, and had eight kickoffs that amassed 433 yards, including one touchback. Additionally, Hutra set the tone for the game as he executed and recovered an onside kick to start the game to give Springfield the early momentum.
