NEWMAC Women's Cross Country Awards Announced, Kibler Tabbed Coach of the Year
WESTWOOD, Mass. - After leading the Mount Holyoke Lyons women's cross country team to the program's best team finish since 1992, Head Coach Chris Kibler was tabbed the 2019 NEWMAC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year. This is the first honor for Kibler.
The Lyons finished in second place with 80 points and had three runners receive All-Conference honors. MIT won the 2019 NEWMAC crown with 19 points, while Wellesley came in third with 92 points.
MIT's Izzi Gengaro claimed the title of 2019 NEWMAC Runner of the Year with a top finish of 21:58, while first-year Lauren Selkin of Mount Holyoke was named the 2019 Rookie of the Year. Selkin crossed the line in 16th place in 23:35.
On Sunday, the 2019 NEWMAC Women's Cross Country All-Conference Team was announced with 17 student-athletes garnering the accolades from seven institutions.
