NEWMAC Women's Cross Country Awards Recap, WPI's Brian Chabot Named Coach of the Year
WESTWOOD, Mass - After leading the WPI Engineers women's cross country team to the programs best team finish in history, head coach, Brian Chabot has been named the 2017 NEWMAC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year. WPI earned the programs best point total (62) while showing four runners on the All-Conference list with their second place finish.
Crossing the finish line first went to Coast Guard's Kaitlyn Mooney who took home the first Athlete of the Year honors for the Bears in program history. The first-year also was tabbed the Rookie of the Year with her impressive performance.
In addition to the All-Conference honors the NEWMAC All-Sportsmanship Team is listed below. The award is intended to recognize one student-athlete from each team, in every sport that best demonstrates the ideals of the NEWMAC and its Code of Conduct, regardless of his/her overall performance or statistics for the season.
