NEWMAC Announces 2009 Mens Cross Country Post-Season Award Winners
BABSON PARK, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic
Conference (NEWMAC) announced its 2009 men's cross country award
winners on Wednesday. Springfield coach Peter
Ferraro was named the NEWMAC Coach of the Year.
Ferraro helped lead the Pride to a second-place showing at
Saturday's NEWMAC Championship. Clark University was selected as
the league's Sportsmanship Award winner. The individual awards,
along with the NEWMAC All-Conference team, were doled out following
the Championship meet. Hemagiri
Arumugam (Hagerstown, Md.) of MIT was named the
Runner of the Year while Zach Pietras (Ludlow,
Mass.) of Springfield earned Rookie of the Year honors as the top
freshman finisher.
