NEWMAC Announces 2008 Women's Cross Country Post-Season Award Winners

BABSON PARK, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its 2008 women's cross country award winners on Thursday. For the second year in a row, MIT coach Halston Taylor was named NEWMAC Coach of the Year, after leading the Engineers to the NEWMAC championship. Mount Holyoke and Smith shared the NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award. At Saturday's NEWMAC championship, Jacqui Wentz (Santa Rosa, Calif.) of MIT earned the NEWMAC Runner of the Year award as the top overall finisher while teammate Katherine Eve (Fremont, Calif.) received Rookie of the Year honors as the top first-year finisher.
