NEWMAC Men's Basketball Co-Offensive Athlete of the Week

AJ Jurko, MIT (Sr., G - Weston, Fla.) 

In a 2-0 week for the No. 7 Engineers, Jurko led the team with a 25.5 points per game to go along with three rebounds, six assists and four steals per contest. In addition, he shot 42.6 percent from the field and 40 percent from three. After a 25-point, eight-assist effort in a home victory over WPI, Jurko added 26 points that included two late three-pointers that sealed a road win at Coast Guard to keep the Engineers unbeaten in NEWMAC play.


NEWMAC Men's Basketball Co-Offensive Athlete of the Week

Geoffrey Gray, Emerson (Sr., G - Newton, Mass.) 

Gray totaled 43 points in the first two NEWMAC games of the season, leading the Lions to two victories, averaging 21.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. Against Coast Guard, Gray scored 20 points, hitting 7-for-15 shots from the field in 39 minutes, before adding 12 rebounds for his first double-double of the week. Gray notched a second double-double of the week against Clark, totaling 23 points and 11 rebounds.


NEWMAC Men's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week

Jarred Houston, Emerson (Fr., C - Norwood, Mass.) 

Houston opened up his NEWMAC career with a double-double against the Coast Guard Bears, scoring 17 points and grabbing 18 rebounds, 14 of them being defensive. The freshman hit eight of his twelve shots in 28 minutes of game time, blocking two shots and assisting one basket along the way. Houston grabbed another eight rebounds against Clark on Saturday while scoring four points and dishing four assists. 


NEWMAC Women's Basketball Offensive Athlete of the Week

Payton Ouimette, Babson (Sr., F - Medfield, Mass.)

Ouimette recorded back-to-back double-doubles and averaged 20.0 points, 16.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 50 percent in a pair of wins. The senior forward finished with 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting to go along with 10 boards and two steals in an 85-77 victory over UMass Dartmouth in the Judy Pearson '85 Memorial Tournament championship game on Monday. She then scored 20 points, grabbed a career-high 22 rebounds and dished out five assists in Saturday's 75-67 triumph at Clark. 


NEWMAC Women's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week

Alex Goslin, Springfield (Jr., G - South Windsor, Conn.)  

Goslin was impressive this past week, as in three games she averaged 11.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.7 assists. In the Hampton Inn West Springfield/Naismith Classic, Goslin notched 11 points to go along with three rebounds, and three assists against Bates, before notching six points, four rebounds and two assists in a 64-60 loss to Vassar. In the Pride's 77-54 win over Wheaton this past Saturday, Goslin posted a game-high 18 points to go along with three rebounds, three assists and a career-best seven steals, five of which came in the fourth quarter to seal the victory, resulting in the Pride remaining unbeaten in NEWMAC play.
