First year Rianna Mariotti (Forest Hills, N.Y.) had two important wins for the Blue this past week. The first year began the week with straight sets 7-5, 6-1 win over Springfield at No. 4. Mariotti played a pivotal role in Wellesley's 4-3 win over No. 20 Babson on Sunday. Tied 3-3, it all came down to Mariotti a at No. 6 singles. After Babson completed a 7-5 opener, Mariotti countered with a 6-3 second. The third set shootout for the entire match went into a tiebreaker, which Mariotti won 8-6.
