Defensive Athlete of the Week- Kate Laico (Gr., GK), Springfield College  

Graduate student Kate Laico (East Meadow, N.Y.) registered an eight save shutout in a 15-0 win for the Pride at Western New England to kick off the 2025 season. Sunday's game marked the first career complete game 60-minute shutout for Laico and first for Springfield as a team since 2022. The last time Springfield shutout a non-conference team was March 20, 1997 before the Pride blanked Wellesley in a NEWMAC contest on April 20, 2022.
