Senior Ottavia Personeni (Bethesda, Md.) powered the back row with an average of 6.00 digs per set in a 3-0 week for MIT. She generated a team-high 21 digs in a sweep of Babson last Tuesday and then led all players with 13 digs as she helped the Engineers defeat Smith in three sets and capture the NEWMAC regular season title. Personeni followed this with a match-high 26 digs and chipped in six assists in a 3-1 victory over Union on Saturday afternoon.
