Defensive Athlete of the Week- Claire English (Jr., F/C), Emerson College
 
Junior Claire English (Winchester, Mass.) pulled down a team-best 14.5 rebounds per game, including 7.5 per game at the defensive end, and averaged a team-high 2.5 blocks and 2.0 steals per game over the Lions' two games at UMass Dartmouth's Lafrance Hospitality Tournament this weekend. She averaged a double-double for the weekend, contributing 17.5 points per game, but led a Lions defensive effort that limited their two opponents to a combined 36.2 percent shooting, including 26.3% from three. English posted her first double-double of the season against UMass Dartmouth on Saturday with 17 points and a season-high 15 rebounds, finishing 8-for-13 shooting with a career-high four assists and season-best totals of three blocked shots and two steals. She followed that up with her second double-double in as many days for the Lions (ninth career) in Sunday's 72-61 win over UNE with a season-high 18 points on 7-of-8 shooting, and 14 rebounds (seven offensive), two assists, two steals, and two blocked shots.
