Das was the fourth overall point for MIT with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking of Angelica Lozano at the No. 5 singles position. With the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 singles matches all within a single point of ending, it was sophomore Serena Le (Aiea, Hawaii) at No. 6 that provided the overall clinching point to send the Engineers into the second round.
