NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week
Emily Young, MIT (Sr, La Jolla, Calif.)
In a 2-0 week for MIT, Emily Young tallied 10 goals, two assists, eight draw controls, and four groundballs. She produced seven goals and one assist in an 18-16 win at Coast Guard last Wednesday, becoming the first player in program history to eclipse 100 points in a season and 300 in a career. Young then registered three goals, one assist, five draw controls, and three groundballs in a 22-6 victory over Smith on Saturday.
NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week
Mairead Williams, Babson (Jr, Hingham, Mass.)
Williams keyed a strong defensive effort that helped Babson allow just 10 total goals in back-to-back wins to wrap up the regular season. The junior defender finished with three ground balls, three caused turnovers and two draw controls in Wednesday's 16-5 win at Wheaton. Williams then contributed one ground ball and one caused turnover in Saturday's 19-5 victory over Mount Holyoke as the Beavers clinched a share of the league's regular season title.
