NEWMAC Women's Basketball Offensive Athlete of the Week

Giovanna Pickering, Babson (Senior, Hull, Mass.)

Pickering had a magnificent week averaging 28.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals while shooting 44.9 percent for Babson. The senior guard scored 19 of her career-high 31 points in the fourth quarter and both overtime periods in Wednesday's 78-74 2OT loss to MIT. Pickering then poured in 17 fourth quarter points and finished with 26 points, five boards, three assists and two steals to help the Beavers' rally for a 15-point deficit to defeat Smith, 76-72, on Saturday. 

NEWMAC Women's Basketball Co-Defensive Athlete of the Week

Gill Gerton, Coast Guard (Junior, Lorton, Va.)

Gill had a huge week as Coast Guard won back-to-back NEWMAC games for the first time this season. She averaged 13.5 points and 11.5 rebounds (21 of her 29 total rebounds were defensive boards) and led the team with five blocks. She had a career-high 21 rebounds (14 defensive), one shy of the school-record in the win over Wellesley on Saturday. 

NEWMAC Women's Basketball Co-Defensive Athlete of the Week

Jennifer Narlee, Babson (Senior, Medfield, Mass.)

Narlee averaged 14.5 rebounds, including 11.5 on the defensive end, to go along with 3.5 blocked shots and 3.0 steals in a pair of games for Babson. The senior forward pulled down a career-high 18 rebounds, blocked four shots and added three steals in Wednesday's 78-74 2OT loss to MIT, and then finished with 11 boards, three blocks and three steals as the Beavers' rallied from 15 points down to defeat Smith, 76-72, on Saturday.
