NEWMAC Women's Basketball Offensive Athlete of the Week
Dolly Yuan, MIT (Sophomore, San Jose, Calif.)
In a 2-0 week for MIT, Dolly Yuan averaged 18 points, four assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals while shooting 72.2 percent from the floor and 80 percent from three-point range. She started the week with a game and career-high 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting and dished out a team-high five assists in the Engineers? 91-54 win over Emerson last Wednesday. Yuan then totaled a game-high 15 points to go along with four rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 39 minutes of action in a 61-54 victory over Coast Guard on Saturday.
NEWMAC Women's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week
Ama Biney, WPI (Junior, Worcester, Mass.)
Biney once again paced the Engineers in a 2-0 week, this time by narrowly averaging a double-double of 11.5 points and eight rebounds. She had a week-high of 13 points versus Springfield and posted a double-double of 10 points and 10 boards at Emerson. Biney also doled out four assists each game and, bolstered by seven steals against the Lions, averaged 4.5 for the week.
