MIT Tabbed as Favorites in Men's Cross Country Preseason Coaches' Poll

WESTWOOD, Mass. – The NEWMAC is looking forward to the 2017 Men's Cross Country season after some great performances shown in 2016. Picking up their 19th consecutive conference crown at the league championships last fall, MIT has been tabbed as the preseason favorites with seven first place votes. After placing second last season, WPI earned the No. 2 nod with one first place vote. 

After a great 2016 season, Babson enters at No. 3 followed by No. 4 Coast Guard and No. 5 Springfield. No. 6 Clark, No. 7 Wheaton and No. 8 Emerson round out the remaining three slots heading into 2017. 

The new season will welcome 11 All-Conference winners, two All-Region honorees and 1 All-American, MIT's Josh Derrick who was also the NEWMAC Rookie of the Year.
