WPI Sophomore Named NEWMAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week

NEWMAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week:

Jeff Baker, WPI, 2011 (Wallingford, Conn.)

Baker started the season in style, automatically qualifying for the NCAA Championships in May in the javelin with a heave of 207-6. It will be a return trip to the NCAA's for the sophomore, who participated last spring as well. Baker capped his all-around strong performance on Saturday by finishing second in the hammer (154-1) and fourth in the discus (127-3) en route to helping WPI win its 34th straight Worcester City Meet Title.
