NEWMAC Announces 2018 Men's Track and Field Preseason Poll, MIT Tabbed as Favorites

WESTWOOD, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference released the 2018 Men's Track and Field Preseason Coaches' Poll on Tuesday morning. After claiming the programs 17th consecutive NEWMAC crown last Spring the MIT Engineers have been tabbed as the favorites with five first place votes. Voting for the poll is conducted by the six men's track and field coaches.

After finishing second at last years championship the No. 2 slot was awarded to WPI with one first place vote. They are followed by No. 3 Coast Guard, No. 4 Springfield, No. 5 Babson and No. 6 Wheaton.

The NEWMAC will welcome back student-athletes who garnered a total of 35 All-Conference honors last season with 39 All-New England accolades. Also returning is the 2017 Track Athlete of the Year and All-America honoree, Babson's John Decker along with the Field Athlete of the Year, MIT's Cody Bratten.
